Quick commerce companies in India

Updated October 2026

The biggest quick commerce companies in India are Blinkit (Eternal), Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart Minutes (Flipkart), BigBasket BB Now (Tata), Amazon Now and JioMart (Reliance). Blinkit is the largest, with 2,621 dark stores open now.

Counting food, fashion and pet specialists, new startups and closed apps such as Dunzo, India has at least 30 quick commerce companies. Eternal (Blinkit) and Swiggy (Instamart) are the only listed companies with quick commerce at the core of their business, and Zepto has put its IPO on hold.

Largest quick commerce companies in India: owners and store counts

Each app has two store counts. One is the company’s own figure. The other is the number of stores open now.

“Places with a store” counts every city and town where the app has a store. It runs higher than company city figures, because many suburbs and localities are counted separately. Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, BB Now, Flipkart Minutes and Amazon Now have 8,241 dark stores in 498 cities.

Which quick commerce app is in the most cities?

Blinkit has stores in the most cities and towns. The other apps are far more concentrated.

One store is enough for a city to count, so these figures show spread, not size; for size, look at each app’s share of the quick-commerce market.

Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart and other large apps: owners and headquarters

Blinkit

Blinkit is India’s biggest quick delivery app, with the most dark stores and the most orders. In FY26 it took about 46.6% of all orders on the top three apps, and it has more stores than any rival in most large cities.

Swiggy Instamart

Instamart is Swiggy’s quick delivery arm and reaches more cities than Zepto. Its share of orders on the top three apps fell from 34.3% in FY24 to 20.9% in FY26, as Blinkit and Zepto grew faster.

Owner: Swiggy Ltd, listed on NSE and BSE (Swiggy Instamart Pvt Ltd from 1 Apr 2026). Headquarters: Bengaluru. Listing: Part of listed Swiggy Ltd.

Quick commerce companies that shut down, including Dunzo

Many quick commerce companies have closed. Most shut because each order cost more to deliver than it earned. The larger apps could afford to keep spending for longer.

CompanyWhenWhat happened
DunzoOffline from Jan 2025Started in Bengaluru in 2014 as a WhatsApp errand service and later ran Dunzo Daily from dark stores. Reliance invested $200 million for 25.8% in January 2022 and wrote the stake off in FY25.

JioMart ExpressShut early 2023Reliance’s first quick-delivery attempt. JioMart started delivering app orders from Reliance Stores again in 2024.
Snacc (Swiggy)ShutSwiggy pulled the app on 19 February 2026; its kitchens are being turned into Instamart stores.
Zomato Quick and Zomato EverydayShutQuick and Everyday both ended in May 2025.
ZingPivoted awayStopped food delivery in 2025 and moved towards 30-minute fresh produce delivery.

Which quick commerce companies make a profit?

Among the big apps, only Blinkit has a positive adjusted EBITDA, and only just: ₹184 crore in July–September 2026, about 0.9% of its net order value. Instamart and Zepto are still losing money, and Flipkart Minutes, BB Now, Amazon Now and JioMart do not publish separate figures. What a single order earns and costs an app is worked through in quick-commerce unit economics.

Why figures for quick commerce companies are hard to compare

Listed companies share more numbers. Blinkit and Instamart sit inside listed companies, so they publish figures every quarter, collected in the quarterly results of Blinkit, Instamart and Zepto. Zepto is private and has shared figures only for its IPO. Flipkart, Amazon and BigBasket publish little beyond occasional store and city totals.

Launch dates can mislead. Blinkit began as Grofers in 2013, and BigBasket existed for a decade before BB Now.

A “store” also means different things. A Blinkit, Zepto or Amazon Now store is a dark store: a store that serves online orders, even when it sits inside a partner More store. JioMart delivers from Reliance Stores, which are shops first.
