Zepto has 1,392 dark stores in 129 cities and towns, the second-biggest store network among India’s dark-store apps. You can order groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables and daily needs, plus coffee and snacks from Zepto Cafe in many cities. Everything comes from a Zepto dark store close to your home.
Its biggest cities are Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi. Zepto is in fewer cities than Blinkit or Instamart, but it packs a lot of stores into the ones it serves.

Who owns Zepto, and how it works
Zepto is a Bengaluru-headquartered quick delivery app started in 2021 by Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra. It runs its own app and dark stores, and is preparing a stock-market listing.

Zepto orders, income and losses
- About 640.2 million orders in FY26.
- FY26 total income of ₹23,128 crore and a loss of ₹5,905 crore.
- The free-delivery minimum went from ₹99 to ₹149 in January 2026, then to ₹199 in August 2026.
- Each Zepto store handled about 2,140 orders a day in January–March 2026, the most of the big three. Zepto needs about 3,000 orders per store per day to break even on adjusted EBITDA.
Orders per store per day is an outside estimate, not a company figure. It shows how busy each store is, not how many people use the app.
How many new stores Zepto plans to open
- In July 2026 analysts expected Zepto to open about 750 stores over two years, paid for largely from its IPO money. Zepto put the IPO on hold on 31 July 2026. It added a net 110 stores in FY26.
Targets are plans, not promises. The city store counts include only stores that have actually opened.
